saving database to winzip file

So I am Microsoft Access User, learning as I go. I need to send a
database back to its author for some adjustments. For security and due
to the size of this database I need to send it as a winzip file. I have
attempted to send it via File, then send to email recipient but it
offers the following formats only: HTML, EXCEL, TEXT FILES, RICH TEXT.
So I took another route, and created a new zip file from my desktop and
attempted to copy the database into the file. This copies as an HTML
File and will not email. Can anyone offer any suggestions or help?
Thanks

You cannot save an MDB file as something else from within that file as you
can a Word document. Those choices you saw were for exporting the current
*object* in the db window, not for the entire MDB file.

To do what you want close Access entirely and do this from the file system
(Windows explorer).

Yep.

Go to Windows Explorer and find your MDB file. Right-click on it and
select Winzip/Zip and Email (or some variation of that).
