In trouble! Db locked with exclusive access

Hi gang,

Hopefully someone can help us out.

In short - Access 2002, db split into a front end and back end.
It appears that our backend db is locked. Our form bound to one table won't
allow new records to be created. When I open the table up directly,
attempts at a new record result in an error stating that the table is locked
by a user (me) who has opened the database in exclusive mode (from my
computer). The problem is that I do not have the database open in exclusive
mode. I can't seem to convince the backend db that there is noone locking
it into exclusive mode.

In the meantime, noone can add new records :(

Any suggestions?
Cheers!
