I have been using a 3gb and an 80gb hard drives with the 3 gb being set
as the master and the 80gb as the slave. (80gb Seagate ST380011A)

I now wish to discard the 3gb and use the 80gb on its own. However, I
can not get the 80gb to be recognised at all as a master. It is
currently operating with the 3 gb as a slave on the primary port and
the 80gb as a master on the secondary port.....and it runs OK...I don't
know how? I have used Seagate's Disckwizard wo set up the harddrive and
the 80gb is a mirror image of the 3gb. if I change the 80gb over to the
primary port it is not recognised at all. How come it is recognised on
the secondary and not as a master on the primary? The 80gb has been
formated & partitioned as per Diskwizard and as far as I know I have
followed everything right thru. Despite changing setting in the CMOS
etc nothing happens. I'm becioming more demented!!! Can any one help at
all please? TIA - Ches

This is definitely the wrong newsgroup for the post. However, you might
see if there are pins on the end of the drive that have to be connected
(via small pin jumpers) for it to be master of slave.
