Autonumber failure

I have a table with Autonumber as the primary key. I have Paste Appended a
thousand or so records. Now adding a new record creates a duplicate Primary
Key number?

I'm using Access 2002 - has anyone else seen this?

You can always override an autonumber in a table update in Access by
providing a number for the autonumber field, maybe this is happening in
one of your appends?
