Compact and repair

Hi !

I have a simple application.
2 tables, nothing fancy.
Split front-end Back-end.
Multiple versions of Access use this database.
Acess2K and Access3K.

When I try to Compact & Repair, the progress bar stops in the middle and
does not budge.
I am, however, able to navigate at this point. It's as if the process were
complete yet I see that the size of the database remains unchanged.

Any clues ?

If you are trying to compact the db while it's in use, that may be the
problem.

Every once in a while I encounter a situation where my db goes wonky,
and repairing won't work anymore. I find that if I export all the
tables, queries, etc. to a new database that sometimes fixes the
problem.
