Hello, can anyone point me in the right direction for this problem,
much appreciated.
Basically importing date and time formatted data from a spreadsheet to
a table. It worked OK until the OS was changed from XP Home to XP pro
SP2, now get a runtime error. Can't find anything in Ms KB so any
suggestions appreciated.

re: excel import problem

also check the security settings for macros in excel.

If you set them to low, it should work.
Tools | Macros | Security.

re: excel import problem

Thanks for the advice, I also checked for more info, its runtime error
31519 apparently the input file is a ".dat" tab delimited file (but
viewed by excel),I have heard that changing the extension to .txt may
be a solution. Will report back results on security settings also.

re: excel import problem

Have changed the security settings and the same problem persists.
As for the .txt that seemed a silly idea anyway!
Many thanks for the feed bvack so far.

re: excel import problem

OK re the file extension change from.dat to .txt, it works if you open
the file with excel and do a save as to .txt.
thanks all

re: excel import problem

MSDN has an article that describes this 'feature'. This reference is to
AC2000 but it is applicable to everything since AC97.
