Read only prob

On my old Win 95 machine on the property tab of an access file the following
options show.
-Read only
Archive
Hidden
System (Grayed)

When a file has been emailed or moved on disc it was just a matter of
unticking the read only box

On my new XP there is just Read only and hidden

Tried to email an app to a friend (Zipped) and the file was read only and he
has been unable to find a way to clear it.

Any thoughts on this ?
