Whenever I open my Database from Access, it opens fine, however; when I
open the Database from a shortcut on my desktop it takes a dogs age.
Any reason for this? Can it be fixed?
Thanks

re: Access Slowwww

Try creating a new shortcut from scratch. If the target or icon are
referencing a remote location, it can cause a drag.

Thanks, I tried that. I also tried different databases and it's still
the same problem, no matter what the size.

Perhaps you have Access open already and it's trying to talk DDE to it?
