Hi,
I am a novice user so please be gentle.;-)
I am trying to import a very large CSV file with an extension of .DRF
Access wont let me import it because DRF is not one of the extensions
recognized under text files.
I assume I need to write a Schema.ini to do this but I can't find any
examples that would help in this situation. Could somebody point me in
the right direction?
Thanks
Phil

re: Importing a CSV file with a different extension

Try opening Windows Exploreer, right click on the file, click on rename and
chnage the extension to txt. If you are successful, you will be able to
import the file.

re: Importing a CSV file with a different extension

Alternatively, if you have to do this repeatedly, you can change the
registry to allow the import of your .DRF files.
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;304206 explains how
to do this

re: Importing a CSV file with a different extension

A .drf is not a file. Look at the size of it in its properties. I
know this because we have a document management system where I work. A
..drf is a link or shortcut to a document on a document management
system. If you received this file as part of an email, I would suggest
asking them to send you a copy of the file, not a reference to it.
