Error #2202 Viewing Reports

I am developing databases in Access2000. Most of my work is done on my
desktop computer, which has a printer attached. However, whenever I try to
view, design or preview a report on my laptop not connected to a network), I
get Run-time error #2202: "You must install a printer before you design,
print or preview"... and it's impossible to do anything with the report.

I have several printers installed on this computer, which I use when I am
attached to various networks. But when I'm traveling, I don't have a
network to attach to, thus no printer is REALLY attached, although the
installation still exists.

Is there a way to change my set-ups in order to avoid this error?

Thanks for any help provided...

Andi

Add a printer, even if you're not connected to it.

Or add a print driver such as CutePDF from http://www.cutepdf.com/ Then
you'll have a "printer" installed from the point of view of Windows, and be
able to print to PDF format to boot (and it's completely free, with no nags)

re: Error #2202 Viewing Reports

Set up a printer and set the Port for the printer to "File". This will
"print to file" if you actually try printing to it. You could later copy /b
the file to a printer of the same type, if you wish, or just delete the
file. If you don't actually print, then nothing will be there, but you'll
have a printer to keep Access happy. Use a second copy of a printer you
already have install, that way you won't need to install any more drivers.
