database sharing

sorry for repost but it is not showing up on my server.

How can one share tables over local net where one can read and write to
them and others can only read.

basically I am unfamiliar with sharing set-up with users, admin etc.
Something simple, only 2 users involved.

Set the Windows share to read only for the users that will only get read
access to the MDB file. Access will generate an error message if these users
try to write to the database. If you want more control, check other posts
for information on Access security.

re: database sharing


When I open the database, access says it can't be open because it is
already open by another user. This happens even when it was open by the
first user in non exclusive mode.
