VB Editor Error - desparate!

Hi

I hope someone might be able to help me with this, because having paid
for support from Microsoft I'm still getting nowhere.

I don't know if this is due to a file corruption or virus (I have no
viruses now), but I cannot get in to the VB Editor via any Office
(2000) program.
In Access, when trying to open a module the message is "Unexpected
error; quitting". In Excel the error message is "Out of memory". In
Word, nothing happens at all.

In other respects, the programs seem to run properly, even Access apps
with loads of code behind them.

I tried to repair Office several times, to no avail. MS instructed me
on how to do a clean install of Office 2000, deleting registery keys
etc but the problem remains. The Office techy now wants to hand me
over to the Windows team, and I can see a reformatting of my hard
drive coming, but I really want to avoid that.

I'm sure this has something to do with a bad dll file; does ANYONE
have any ideas? I depend on writing VB code for my livelihood and so
am getting very anxious about this.

Any advice gratefully received

Reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling the apps takes a known

attractive one.

Tom

That was good, sensible advice (which my totally non-technical husband
had already given) but it had taken me several days to come round to
that way of thinking, unfortunately. I do still wonder if the problem
was caused by a virus, hope it doesn't reappear! Thanks for your
help.

Ondine.
