Not sure if this works... I just posted this on the thread as well.

The only other thing I'm trying to figure out is even when a user doesn't upload an image, it's still stored as a binary instead of a NULL. How would I replace binary with NULL when no image is selected for upload?

am working on an image which has cloud cover over some parts of it. thus DN values of those areas are distorted and need to be corrected.I want to extract some parameters from the image like temperature. after extraction the temperature of the cloudy areas are wrong and need correction by interpolation which is to be done using neighboring correct pixels.
