Default A2007 Like operator in query design grid

In a newly converted database (ACCDB from A97 MDB) I'm seeing the
following behavior.

In the query design grid (of existing or of newly created queries),
after entering a criteria statement using the LIKE operator, Access is
automatically changing the word "Like" to "ALike." I can change it
back to "Like" - but upon exiting the column, it is always changed
back to "ALike."

Anyone else experience this? Must have something to do with
AutoCorrect? I've looked under the Office button/Access Options, but
don't see anything there that would cause the behavior. Thanks for
any help.
