Default many excel files import to One Table in Access

Hi, all:
i am a new end user of access, now I have many excel files need to
import to One table in access (combine all excel files into one table
in excel). In excel files, some columns will have both # and text in
the same column. The coloumn names in each excel file are mostly same
but still a lot of different names(items). I was told to set up import
specification, but how? i am not a programer or not access
professional, please help me with direct information with simple
language.

One potential work around is to add a dummy first row to the Excel
sheet where each column's value is in the desired data type.

Once imported delete the dummy first record.

Hi amy,

I am just in the process of testing an application which does just what
you need. Joining several EXCEL sheets in a unique access table.

If those file are not top secret or reserved stuff, for my testing
purpose, I will be glad to do the job (clearly free) for you.

For testing purpose, I would not need the whole files, even a subset
will be fine. After the test and debugging, I can provide you the
application for free (if you want it).

In case, You can email me the files (zipped). Just ensure that each
message does not exceed a couple MBs. (Attach possible directions for
joining.)

-tom

PS
don't get offended if I used "for free" a couple times (it should be
understood that everything offered on the groups is free. I wanted to
be precise, just in case one might misunderstand.)
