Subdatasheets - How to use in subform?

I've figured out how to insert subdatasheets into tables and queries - just
open the table/query, select subdatasheet from the Insert menu, and play
around with the Link Child/Link Master fields until you get what you're
looking for. Easy enough.

But how do I use these in my forms? I tried dragging a table with a
subdatasheet directly onto a form in design view, but when I opened the
form, no little crosses. I don't want to give my users direct access to the
tables. How do I get subdatasheets into a subform? Is there a way to open
a table/query with a subdatasheet inside a form? Other alternatives?

To get a subdatasheet into a form, you need to create a subform in Datasheet
view. Create a second form to use as the subform, set it to datasheet view,
and drag/drop it into the main form. Set the Child/Master links as
appropriate.

Both the form & the subform have to be datasheets. The way I do it is
create the 2 forms making sure the only view possible is Datasheet; then
open the main form in design view & drag the subdatasheet form onto the
main form.

In Acc2000 and Acc2002 I've found that sometimes the "little cross"
doesn't show up when the form opens! I've done things to the forms
(which I don't remember what) and the cross appears. Hmm... Not sure
what causes that. Maybe someone else knows.
