Filter one combo box based on another

I have tried to filter one combo box based on a selection in another
combo box, by using the following sample code:
tblfield=forms![formname]![fieldname]. However, the combobox only
seems to recognise the first record, not the current record in order
to limit the list? Any suggestions?
