MS-Access new user needs advice.

Hi
Is there an easy way to enter lots of duplicate data in Access, like
you can in Excel by just clicking and dragging? I have various fields
that require the same data for each record and I can only find
reference to repeating whats in the previous field when trying to
duplicate data. Is there a quick way to enter the same data into a
particular field for many records?

Either:

Update query, or

In data sheet format, arrange records so that those requiring the
standard data are together, then fill in the top field, down arrow to
the same field in the next record and type ctrl+' (ctrl and single quote
at the same time). This repeats the date from the field above.

One good method I use is to:
1. Open the table for the duplicate data
2. Select and Copy the record you want to duplicate
3. Paste into Excel
4. Copy the rows of data in Excel to make duplicates
5. Select the data in Excel - Make sure you do not include the headers
6. Select the new record row (last) in the Access Table and paste (ctl+v)

This method is also useful if filling tables with patterns more easilt
created by Excel formulae.
