How link a Access DB on the web to local copy

I have one Access 2000 DB on my website. I want to access these tables
from my local database so i do not need to down-/upload the database
each time i want to make changes.

Meanwhile i want a external partner to access (just read) another
database on my web.

I have tried with "link tables" but do not succeed. Help please!

If you just want to make changes to the data, you could of course
write an Admin interface which would allow browsing and editing the
tables. If you search the Internet, you may well find some ASP pages
pretty much ready to go.

There you find a login page - to keep everyone but approved users out.
Once in, you would find a list of all tables, and upon selecting one,
you are presented with a grid to browse the data and to edit it.
Implementing this is very doable, especially if you can find some
starter pages on the web.

When you link tables, you must be able to "browse" on your network to the
file of your choice. So, the way to make this work is to setup networking
between your computer, and that web server. So, you need that other computer
to appear on your local network (just like you can network a few computers
together through a hub). This is usually called a VPN (virtual private
network). When you make a VPN, then all computers will appear in "my
network". In fact, the computers can be all over the world, but appear as a
nice little happy network.

So, to "link" a front end to the back end, you have to be able to browse to
the folder via "my networks". If you can't simply browse, and look at
folders via your network neighborhood, then you can't browse to the files
when you try and link.

Of course, the problem with is approach is that your connection is 100 times
slower over the web (and I am taking a t1, or a high speed internet).
