OLE and photographs

My problem is when trying to embed or link a graphic into a table as a bmp.
I am developing an access database which has photos of clients.

When I choose the object type, created from a file I get he following error
message.....

"The connection with the OLE server says: the OLE server encountered and
error or Active X control was lost".

I have search the internet for possible reasons and solutions. And have
tried everything that has been suggested. These include the suggestion
there is a possible confliction between Norton Antivirus and any firewall
that might be stopping script from running withing Access. I have removed
Norton 2003 antivirus and all other script stopping programs.

So now I am at a total loss how to solve this error problem.

What baffles me is that it also says the OLE has stopped?? and I cannot find
anywhere in Win2000 to restart the OLE.
