Summarized report with one detailed column

Hello

I have a sumarized report that groups all the data together by the
customer. I have one column called notes that I would like to show
the details of. Is this possible. I am new to Access 2000

The notes column reflects why the bill was not paid on time

Name Pieces Bill_Amount Notes
My Co 78 11,800 Paid 2.000 in June
Paid 2.000 in July
Paid 2.000 in Aug


What is the best way to do this?

Create group based on customer.
Move all the constant fields into the group header.
Leave the notes field in the detail line.

I hate to be a pain but how can I go about this. Should I do it on the
exsisting report

Make a copy of your starting position first.

You said that your report 'groups data by customer'.
Perhaps you just meant it sorts by customer.

To create a group, open the report in design view.
Click the Sorting and Grouping button (middle of the toolbar)

If you already have an entry for your customer name/id here then it just
needs to have Group Header property set to Yes.

If there are no entries in the dialog box then you must create one.
Click into the top line.
Select your grouping field from the drop down list. In the group
properties set the Group Header to yes.

Thanks that worked. I can see the detail. It is sorted accending so I
get the first record only. Is that the way it should work? Is there a
way to see all the details?

In your group header you put the fields where the values are the same
for all records in your group.
In the detail line you put the fields where the values are might be
different or that you want to see for each record.
