Trying to Create a Dialog Box for Multiple div's

I am having difficulty creating unique dialogs when I am selecting
multiple rows from a db call (mySQL and PHP). I am listing a number of
headlines so that when the user clicks a headline a new dialog box pops
up displaying the article content. The headlines are the 5 links in
top left corner of the URL below.

Firebug keeps giving me "el has no properties"

I fail to see how el can't have any properties -- can someone help me
out? I have been trying to solve this for 3 days, have asked in
numerous forums and on IRC. No luck.
