A single layer of what?

But the answer is probably CSS print media style sheets, so nothing to
do with javascript.

Richard.

Thanks, Richard. The selective style sheet method does what I want. But I
read that a DOM layer object incorporates is own window object and should
thus be able to print directly. Is this not the case?

With regards,

John

What are you referring to as "a DOM layer object"? The last (and
virtually only) browser with an explicit "layer" concept was Netscape 4.

Richard.
