Hello,
I want to buy _print_ copy of the C++ standard.
I have tried contacting info@ihs.com but got no replies.
Any pointers will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Wow! That beats $175.00 US! I noticed _C++ Pocket Reference_ listed on the
page describing the Standard: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/cplus...tml?CMP=IL7015
I have the XML counterpart, and often refer to it. Unfortunately this C++
Pocket Reference is almost certainly for the older version of the
C++.Standard. I wonder if it would be good to have around.
The Standard itself is not ideal for easy reference, unless, perhaps, if you
have already read it carefully, and understand it well.

It's very recent, including corrigenda.

It's a lot more portable. The standard itself is fairly hefty and quite a
few trees sacrificed their lives to its printing.

The pocket reference is more user-friendly, if less rigorous.

Is there no C++ standard for free, so we can download
and print?
Why does it have to be so expensive?

There is another source listing it for $65.00 US. See Claudio Puviani's post
in this thread. The electronic version can be purchased for $18.00 US. (I
find that reasonable - try getting all 19 pages of the EBNF Specification)
Now, according to the FAQ, I'm supposed to tell you the answer is in the
FAQ, but not /where/ in the FAQ, So I won't tell you it's in section 6. http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/
