Default Floating columns

Hi,

I try to build a 2-column-layout, which makes it possible to put
paragraphs into a 'content'-Column and let them float. The goal is
getting these two columns without letting the author/user decide, if a
text belongs to the left or the right column:

+-content-----------------+
| |
| +-par1--+ +-par2--+ |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| +-------+ +-------+ |
| +-par3--+ +-par4--+ |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| +-------+ +-------+ |

So far it works great with float:left;, but I've got two unsolved problems:
- I set margin-right:xy; for the pars to get a gutter between the cols.
Unfortunately it marges also right from pars 2 and 4...
- If par2 is longer than par1, there will be a gap between par1 and
par2. I want the same gap between all pars...

The test-layout is at http://www.dietzk.de/mainova/

Thank you for any idea!

Chris
