The wiki is read only! :-þ

I don't want to join, but I recommend SciTE.

I don't know if that will compile on a Mac, I don't know much about them.
There isn't a precompiled Mac binary, anyway.

I like BBEdit and the easy to use tools it contains, the testing it can
do for finding improper HTML coding, and the way it interfaces with
browsers on your computer (but I'm very much an amateur HTML coder).

If you want a low-end WYSIWYG or "drag and drop" type page editor, the
"Composer" component that is part of any version of Netscape is not bad
at all. (Makes fairly messy HTML if you look inside the actual code it
produces, but it does work, and the code functions also.)

Well, I've done a lot of HTML, and I still prefer BBEdit.

For larger projects, I use Dreamweaver -- never for the WYSIWYG part,
but for the CSS syntax checking.

For editing webpages, SubEthaEdit is free, has syntax coloring,
and a live preview. HyperEdit is not free, has those things, and
built-in syntax checking using the w3c validator code (I think).

For creating entire websites, look into Tinderbox.
