A service similar to Google search was one thing I had in mind, but
nothing on its language_tools page suggests such a service exists. One
complication is that a translation service must first ask what
language to translate to.
I did find that if I had my browser (Galeon) display the German Google
page and did a search for one of my pages, the page name is followed
by a translation link. When clicked, it translatted the page from
English to German (but also hung my desktop, which didn't happen if I
merely pasted an address into the "translate a web page" field).
