I am looking for something I have seen a few months ago. Maybe someone
here remembers where this site is or has built something similar ... I
couldn't find it.

What I am looking for is a web page that presents its content as an
outliner. Ie, the page is divided into sections with headlines. On
load, only those headlines are visible. Beside each headline is an
arrow pointing to the right.

Hovering the mouse over a headline will bring up a layer - like a very
large tool tip - that shows all the attached/included content, i.e.,
subheads and text paragraphs.

Clicking the headline will open the relevant section (the pop-up
disappears, and the text appears as part of the page), and the arrow
beside the headline now points downwards. In short, it is like the
folder view in MacOS.

The whole page is/was an (unofficial? experimental?)
front-end/presentation module for Radio Userland, but AFAIR not by
Dave Winer & Co. Couldn't find it there, though.

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me where this page
went or if a similar site/presentation is available somewhere else. I
really like the whole concept. I understand this can be done in
standards-compliant browsers using DOM and CSS magic, but I am not
sure about the details.

Here's a simple example I just put together:
http://tw.ecritters.biz/html_examples/expand/. I didn't do the tooltip
hover feature, because that would be very annoying in my opinion:
imagine a large quantity of text covering what you're trying to read if
your cat happens to walk too close to your mouse. If you want to see
what's in a section, just open the section normally!

Hence, use a descriptive title and possibly a short description under it.

I find the preview feature very convenient: You can hover over
sections with lots of collapsed content and open the one you are
interested in. No extensive clicking or scrolling. Check the demos -
some impressing stuff there.

It does have some benifits, I'll admit that. But what happens when I'm
reading something, when my elbow suddenly brushes against my mouse and
causes a large article to cover the one I'm reading? I'll be distracted,
annoyed, lose my place, and maybe even stop reading the whole article.
That's a bad thing.
