Default image dithering when width set to 100%

Hello all,
I am trying to create my first website that is screen
resolution(height/width) and browser width friendly .. I have a basic design
done in fireworks and I converted the table size to 100% however my right
most image on my "nav bar" when set to width=100% it gets a really bad
dithering or pixelating effect . I have tried converting the image from a
gif to jpg (as I have seen alot of the sites use jpg for this ) to no avail.
could anyone offer me any input or resources for information ?
thank you advance

Don't let the browser scale images, use a sensible background that blends
with the image.

But if I have a navbar and I want the background of it to extend to the edge
of the browser I have to do some sort of scaling

Nevermind I found solution, I increased the image to be scaled, resolution
to the maximum fireworks would let me and I no longer have a dither problem
....

No you don't, you can let it blend with either a tiled version, or a
sensible background colour.

In article <XvicnYebSsGyaImiXTWJhQ@comcast.com>, David@joltsoft.com

Glacial presumable refers to the speed that their page loads?

Lot of javascript. No idea why they don't just pixel-position the top
and left-hand stuff.
