Default Remote Desktop WindowXP - Professional

I'm trying to remote desktop from my machine to another machine, both are
Windows XP professionl SP3. It brings up the login screen, logs me in but it
only shows on the top line the machine name and the rest of the screen is blank. I waited for 5, 10 minutes but nothing happens. It works up until three weeks ago. Any input?? Appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ben

is this in a home or work location?

is this before or after entering login details? if after have you tried logging on with a different log in ID to confirm if profile or machine related

has the PC been rebooted?

how long have you tried leaving it as it could just be a slow login as happens to me occasionally

do any errors for mstsc / winlogon / userenv etc show up in the event logs

It's a work pc. It logs me in and when I log out for some reason it still shows me as logged in. Rebooted and the problem went away...

Thanks,

it probably didn't log you out cleanly so might have had some file locked, if it is working now it will probably be okay.
