Default Desperate: Save as Text/Load From Text

Access 2003.

Will someone please explain how to do this? My applications have all
become so absolutely despairingly *&^%ing corrupted - I have no idea
why - I honestly suspect some asinine XP update as being the culprit
as one day this summer all of a sudden, compact and repair started
crashing my applications all of which had never experienced any
problems until then.

AND PLEASE DON'T SAY "GOOGLE IT"! Google won't produce any results
when one Googles "Load From text" and Googling "Save as Text" just
produces a bunch of messages with Larry telling people to Google for
it.

Thanks ever so much. I have lost all faith in Access 2003 as a stable
platform in my organization.

Have you tried creating a new blank database and importing everything into
it from the corrupt Db?

Phil

Perhaps.

Depending.

If all else ....

Hi Phil, thanks for the response. That doesn't work. Decompile
doesn't work. The darn thing compiles properly when I click Debug-

Lyle, thank you very much.

It turns out that Googling "Save as Text" and /or "Load from text" was
getting me nothing. However, after reading your pages and then
googling these expressions without the spaces, I was able to find more
posts.

Your code is much appreciated - I have a ton of objects.

BTW, aren't these the same link? In any event, I tried your code
after doing things "handraulically" (which was brutal). I remmed out
a few things that didn't come onto the web page with a ' and I also
did the same to the with app/end app code in you main sub as I didn't
understand what it did - I work with mdbs and wasn't sure what the ade
stuff is.

Anyway after both methods (yours, altered as above, and the handraulic
method), the shift-compact and repair seems to be working without
crashing the damn things (fingers crossed).

I may have a flakey network card - sometimes two or three times a day,
I lose connection to our network, the internet and, most importantly,
the Oracle database against which my mdbs are written. I suspect it
was one or more of these instances that have done this. When I get a
new PC, I'm going to take this one to the top of our Memorial tower
and drop it laughing maniacally.

Thanks so much (again with fingers crossed)
