Default set write suspend on database takes multiple hours

Hi,

I'm working with DB2 UDB V8.2 Fixpak 14 on Linux.

Since two days the 'set write suspend on database' command takes
multiple hours in our backup script in the night. Theres more or less
no traffic on the database in the night.

In the db2diag.log I've found multiple entries like this:

2008-09-02-04.22.25.272241+120 I1084119G466 LEVEL: Severe
PID : 25696 TID : 1024 PROC : db2agent
(instance) 0
INSTANCE: db2inst1 NODE : 000 DB : BPEDB
APPHDL : 0-1116 APPID: *LOCAL.db2inst1.080902022225
FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, database monitor, sqm___sqlmonssagnt, probe:1234
MESSAGE : Cannot obtain the requested snapshot as this database is in
write
suspend mode. Skipping database BPEDB

When I try to set the write suspend manually in the command line
during the day it works fine! Any ideas about the reasons?

Regards

Michael
