Default Firefox view source shows frameset when I don't use frames

This is unbelievably weird. My site shows in "view source" the following in Firefox 3:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <frameset rows="100%,*" border="0">
  2. <frame src="http://www.example.com" frameborder="0" />
  3. <frame frameborder="0" noresize />
  4. </frameset>
  5.
in IE and on another computer with FF3 it displays the HTML source code just fine.

I'm launching FF in safe mode to no avail.

// FF issue i know. the site is PHP, i know wrong forum, but I didn't know where else to turn to

And (this might be related) my URL does not change when I clearly switch pages. When I click the page1 link, the URL does not change to .com/page1.php.

I'm about ready to pull my hair out.

Any ideas?

Dan

First, I'm sure that you used frames.
I guess you right clicked and choose "view source" in the pop-up menu. If you did that, you will see the HTML source code in IE , and frameset code in Firefox. IE will show the code of the page you right clicked in, and firefox will show the main page's code. If you want to see HTML source code in Firefox, right click and choose "frame[H]"->"view source" .

Here's a frameset demo page .You can have a try.

Hope it helps.

You don't use frames? Are you positive. Maybe your host puts them in? This is definitely strange though.

Heya, Dan.

Is that content coming from the database, or did your HTML get modified?

I'm guessing your site got hacked, and you'll need to be able to determine how it happened to prevent it from happening again.

I have seen this numerous times. It is most likely that the host puts in frames. A friend of mine builds sites without frames and the source shows this. It's not relating to the browser or anything it's simply the hosts way of handling some URL type stuff that I don't fully understand.

Who is your host?

I know that some ISPs use frames when they want a custom URL point to their shared host directory (which in most cases is not very memorizable).
