Default how to update columns in oracle forms

Hi everyone
i have a question about updating some columns in oracle forms
for e.g i have a page that show u items to buy something..firstly, customer have to enter the datas to order..after entering all datas,customer have to push the button that name is Pay Now..i wrote codes under this button..when u push the button,firstly my project controls product table..if there is enough product to finish order then i want to update items column to decraese item quantity.lastly i want to commit form..if there is not enough product..already give you error message..i mean i have updating problem..i wrote update codes on when_pressed_button trigger that dont give me error when compiling it. if there is enough product the order finish rightly..but never updated:( i dont understand what i have to do...
plzzz help me quick
