Read Blob field

Greetings,

I have a Binary file which has been FTP through Cobol system, now by
using Db2 Load utility ( In ASC Format ) i put that data into Blob
column in Db2 table.
but the problem is i'm not able to read the actual data, even i tried
giving cast (a as varchar(100) for mixed data) ; but no result.

could anybody please advice me where i'm getting wrong and is there
any workaround to come over this.
