Designing Icons for Apps

Discussion started by: tharden3 (Needs Regular Fix) on July 14th, 2008 05:51 PM
I need to design some icons for my apps that I'm making in wxPython. I really only have "paint" on my computer to do something like that. Is there anything I can download? Any free software?

Not free software that I know of. But I'm pretty sure there are sites out there that help you or provide templates for icons. I also believe there is an icon folder in you obj of your WINDOWS folder that it uses as defaults. And all VS's come with icon set ups for there programs if you can get your hands on sample version you can get those. But like I said there are a couple online sites that help with icon building.

Google Search of Icon template

Just aren't trying hard enough.

If you're looking for free image software then look no further than The Gimp.

It's an excellent opensource image program and there's loads of tutorials on the web which will help you get to grips with it.
