Default Backing up MySQL with PHPadmin

Hi All!

I'm really stumped to resort to posting a question online - and thank heavens for that! I learned it all from folks like you (gosh I sound like a little ole' lady, ouch)!

Ok. I usually manage my databases through admin control panels via the software apps. But now I need to do a backup of all MySQL databases and have attempted to use PHPmyadmin and for some reason I'm missing a step. I follow the screen and select what I want and choose the ZIp format to be saved as. Here's the problem, it attempts to save and goes through the process but I'm left with an 0bytes file. So I'm missing some step. I checked that all is check marked that I want and still no help. I did get a larger save by not using the zip but then I just time out.

Is there a step by step I can view to backup these mySQL DB's with PHPmyadmin?
Looked at a few related manuals, don't see the step by step. Probably because it's so darn obvious to everyone but me ;/

Thanks much!
