VB6 Error Installing "unhandled exception" error

Question posted by: Gary (Guest) on March 31st, 2008 05:45 AM

Trying to install VB6 (learning edition) on Windows XP.

When running the SETUP.EXE to install Visual Basic 6.0
it gives the error...

"An unhandled win32 exception occured in vs60wiz.exe"
or
"An unhandled win32 exception occured in setup.exe"

I have used this CD in the past.
I have tried copying the CD to the hard drive and installing from there.
Some research indicated such problems on 64-Bit chips. I have a 32-bit
Pentium Dothan.
This comptuer has Visual Studio 2005 installed...BUT...
I have also tried on another comptuer that did NOT have VS2005, and got
similar error.

Thanks for any help!!
Gary
