Develope a registry monitor

i m going to use detour library to intercept API calls to the the registry from .NET Environment.... can i use VB.NET for progrmming... my friend told me we cant use detour with vb coz detour.h file wont compile successfully.. is it true..? other than this which technique is good to develope this..? please give me a suggestion... i m a fresher to this field

I'd recommend not re-inventing something that's been created and use Sysinternal's / Winternal's regmon

(Or is this just a 'for fun' project that you still want to implement?)
