Grabbing Bytes & Converting For Picture Editing?

Question posted by: xLin (Newbie) on March 2nd, 2008 01:05 AM
Hi all. I've been making a few ROM Hacking tools, and I'm tired of just plain text or other simple tools. I'm making a huge project for this one game, and have been trying to grab bytes and then display them as a picture. I've tried SetPixel, and whatever else I could think of. I know the graphics of most ROMs are compressed, their formats as in like an 8x8 tile is 00000000. I can already grab the byte, but here's where I'm stuck. I need to convert it to use on an image. I have looked at ROM Hacking tool sources that show the image, and have not found what it used to actually set the image according to the byte. I have Googled for months, asked questions on an IRC channel that had ROM Hacking Tool makers, and I've had no luck. So all I need is a simple tutorial. Thanks!
