Spell checkers

Question posted by: mskh (Newbie) on March 1st, 2008 01:43 PM
Hello everyone,

Guys i need to know what are the constraints in designing a spell-checker program? for example Word processor ignores acronyms and does not check them. Could anyone think of more contraints that should be considered when designing a spell-checker?

Regards
M

Re: Spell checkers
Ignore proper nouns, ignore CamelCaseWords, ignore words with numbers in them, ignore words-that-are-hyphenated.

Stuff like that. You can think of dozens of constraints if you sat down and examined it.

You don't have to find them...just think of them.
