Let me know whether IBM supports 64bit client application in a 32bit
instance.

There are 2 inconsistent descriptions.

According to V8 Information center, DB2 does not support running a 64-
bit application in a 32-bit instance.

But according to technote, 64-bit client application & 64-bit hardware
+ operating system with a 32-bit or 64-bit DB2 instance is supported.

I am a bit confused here: link you are quoting states that:

Windows 32-bit applications can run as is on Windows 64-bit without any
changes to the 64-bit environment. On UNIX, in all 64-bit DB2 instances
except Linux for IA64 and Linux for zSeries, you can migrate your
existing 32-bit local applications by rebinding the application, and
running it with the correct library path setting. On HP-UX, you can only
do this if the application was linked with the +s option. If the
application was not linked with the +s option, you must rebuild the
application with the +s option, or with the embedded runtime path to
include the 32-bit DB2 library.

But according to technote, 64-bit client application & 64-bit hardware
+ operating system with a 32-bit or 64-bit DB2 instance is supported.

Table 4 which you are referring to states that only not supported
combination is 64-bit client application connecting to:
32-bit hardware + operating system with a 32-bit DB2 instance

So if your 64-bit client application is connecting to:
64-bit hardware + operating system with a 32-bit or 64-bit DB2 instance

the both quoted references are correct and in sync with each other.

Am I missing something?
