Having previously had this working on my XP machine, I've come back after a
month to find this error occuring now.

In the meantime, I had installed PHP (v4.2.3) which could easily be a
factor.

The symptoms are that when I call an ASP page, I get a standard 404 error.
However, if I dont specify a page, and a default/index page is found, it
renders the page OK.

I've uninstalled PHP & rebooted, but this didnt work.

Any ideas?

Hi Chris,

Did your IIS work with a HTM file? Did this problem occurred with all web
application or only one?

Additionally, you may open IIS manager, and check the web site's
properties. In the "Home Directory" tab, click button "configuration", can
you find the .asp extension in the list and it has been set for Get, Post?

HTML pages rendered ok - but isnt this just IE doing the work rather than
IIS?

I've uninstalled IIS & URLScan now, and have reinstalled. I still have
problems, but the symptoms are different, so I am going to create a new
post.
