Default password on linked tables

i have a databese divided into two parts
one .mdb file which contains only tables with data and the other with forms
report etc. linked to the first one (i'm continouosly working on improvments
and database is in use so this is more convinient for me)

is there a way to put password on th file with tables (not through startup
form) and still be able to link to data and how.
thanks

Default Re: password on linked tables

Use "Tools-Security-Set Database Password" on the backend mdb. You can
still link to these tables, but will be prompted for a password. See Access
help for "passwords" for full details.
