Default problem in creating an instance

Hi all !
I'm an amateur to DB2.I installed DB2 ESE trial edition on
my system. It was all going well and suddenly when i was trying to
create an instance, i faced a problem which i listed it below. i tried
my best to debug and could not solve,
can any one please help me out....
regards,
vijju.

C:\>db2icrt book

DBI1959N The instance directory cannot be created.

Explanation:

An error occurred when creating the required files or directories
for the new instance. The instance was not created.

User Response:

Ensure that you have write access to the location where the
instance directory is created. The instance directory is created
under the path where the product is installed. You may use the
DB2INSTPROF Profile Variable to specify a different location for
the instance directory.

You need root access to create an instance.
