Default Bulk Data Transfer

Hi folks:

We have a system requirement where a large amount of data needs to be
transferred between two systems. The main system is a DB2 8.x running
on a pSeries (AIX) and the archive database resides on an iSeries
(AS/400).

At the end of the day, we would like to transfer the daily processed
data from the pSeries to the iSeries. Since the amount of data to be
transferred is large (in excess of 200,00 records), we would like a
solution, which can move the data in bulk from one system to the other
instead of programmatically (reading from one DB and writing to
another) achieving this transfer.

We are NOT looking at using DB2 Replication on pSeries with the DB2
propagator on iSeries (licensing issues). I have heard of the DB2
IMPORT/EXPORT & LOAD/UNLOAD utilities but I don't know how these can be
used, from what I know these provide bulk loading but I am not sure
which is the right tool to use in order to achieve what we are trying
to do.

Would appreciate if someone could provide help on this

Thanks

Nav

Nav,

We have ad-hoc replication processes to avoid Web-Sphere MQ licensing
issues. For convenience & maintenance reasons, we have been using
db2move utility for import & export without any problems so far.

Although I haven't used it, recently announced SP:

looks promising.
