Default Old versions of Access

Is there anywhere I can buy an older version (simply for the
hoped-for lower price) of Access?
Will it run as a stand-alone? Or do I need the corresponding
older version of Office and/or OS?

Older versions might well cost more than the current one.

All versions of Access run by themselves.

Did you try a web search? EBay or Amazon might be a place to look.

Actually, the current prices for ms-access are quite cheap.

They are:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/acce...y/default.mspx

$229 for full version of access 2003
$129 for upgrade version
(qualifying versions for upgrade go back all the way to access97/office 97).

In fact, even the really cheap works database qualifies for a upgrade (the
last 5 pc's I purchased came with works!!!).

So, if you are like me, and have a self with 5 office 97 disks, between
works, and a97 disks laying around...you have
plenty of opportunity to purchase the upgrade version of access for $129....

At that price...it really is a good deal...

I'm saving my 81diskettes for Microsoft Office circa 1993 for Antiques
Roadshow.

Oh great... While an interesting show (except I simply hate Valerie
Pringle on the Canadian version who is a total clueless goofball) it's
done so much damage to real antique prices, driving up prices charged
for pure junk. Will it do the same for old Access?

I doubt it, but y'never know, y'know?

If you can find a brand-new, still-in-the-shrink wrap, copy of Access 2002,
I might think that's a better buy than Access 2003, unless you are going to
have an "always-on" internet connection, because there was not much change
between 2002 and 2003, and with Access 2003, they went to "online primary"
for their help.

Valerie is a red-head. Surely that means something ...?
