Default postgresql.conf for pg_stat_activity

The variable names in postgresql.conf have changed
in the last several releases. I'm now confused
about what variable(s) to set to show the query
in pg_stat_activity.

Hints?

stats_command_string ... AFAIR this has never changed ...

joining column's datatypes do not match
