Hi,
i'd like to know how to implement an automatic failover with HADR.
I've configured 2 databases, one primary and the other standby. Everything
works ok (replciation and takeover).
But if i issue a shutdown force on the primary database, the other database
don't become online. I must use takeover by force.
Is there any way or an option i missed ?

There is no automated fail-over in HADR of the kind you suggest; HADR
is not a monitoring tool and does not include monitoring, per se. The
takeover process must always be issued using the takeover command
either manually or in a script that you build.

You need something like HACMP, Tivoli Systems Automation, or Veritas
Cluster Manager to automate the failover (or you can develop your own
scripts).

I'm working to get HADR working with Open Source Foundation's Heartbeat
alongside MON and we're very close but not there quite yet.
