Default How to send Mails out of a DB2 database on SuSE

Hello!

I'm migrating from pgSQL and WinXP to DB2 8.2 on SuSE 9.2 and I'd like
to send E-Mails by triggers. I found some code for Java stored
Procedures but I'm not able to get JavaDK running in my DB2 instance.
So is there any other way to send mails by triggers out of my DB2?
Procedure Code in C or some Software like dbmail from softtreetech.com
-> but must run under Linux.

THX!

Trigger cannot send mail, but UDF can - try invoking UDF from your trigger.

Hello.

Try
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...d/t0004675.htm
and look at
"Setting up the Linux Java environment " topic.

After you set up java environment, sending emails will be fairly
simple.
If you interesting I can send you java class, mail jars and sql to
create a java udf.
I have being using this class since v6.1.

Sincerely,
Mark B.
